Nanjing Rotorua Town will consist of 2000 residential lots on 26 hectares, with a total value of NZ$100 million. Designed to have the look and feel of Rotorua, the Rotorua Town development is quite different in appearance from the usual Chinese living environment. It will appeal to educated, professional Chinese and Western migrants. The cost of a return air ticket to Rotorua is included in the sale price of each property, encouraging purchasers and their families to visit and do business in New Zealand. The Nanjing Rotorua Town centre includes a building called the clubhouse. On the ground floor is 160 square metres of exhibition space promoting Rotorua. There is also an opportunity for a virtual Rotorua visitor information and business development centre on the first floor, incorporating promotion and sales of New Zealand products and arts and crafts.
