With this well developed infrastructure and an excellent public transport system, including buses and taxis, you are literally only 15 minutes from anywhere in Rotorua City. In fact with the unique pristine environment, breathtaking views and well developed suburban walking and biking tracks, many choose to walk, ride or run to their place of work. The central north island location also provides easy access to the surrounding areas of Tauranga, Mt Maunganui, Whakatane, Taupo and Hamilton, in the time that it takes many to get to work in the heavy city commuter traffic of New Zealand’s largest cities. Rotorua has an excellent subsidised commuter bus service "City Ride" and at a very reasonable fee you can traverse the whole of the city.
