It operates hospitals and other health services in the city of Rotorua, as well as the nearby town of Taupo, and their outlying areas, providing a wide range of services including medical, surgical, women’s and children’s health, care for the elderly, disability support and mental health related support services. Facilities include 24-hour laboratory and radiology services, and MRI. Rotorua Hospital has 178 inpatient beds and 22-day beds, while the smaller Taupo Hospital caters for 28 inpatient beds and has 8-day beds.
