The Forum was designed to give the Rotorua Business Community an insight into the Rotorua BrightEconomy Project, and invite you to look into the opportunities for partnering with the Board in driving this strategy forward.

The Forum's program had an exciting selection of keynote speakers to motivate, educate and to challenge the conventional ways of thinking about the reality of the future globally sustainable economic opportunities for Rotorua.

The workshops ran concurrently to provide you with an opportunity to critique our six new areas of focus outlined in the BrightEconomy Advisory Boards Economic Framework¨

        • Land Use Optimisation
        • Research & Development
        • Immigration and Lifestyle Investment
        • Water


The workshops were headed by the board members along with a relevant business person.


The workshops followed the format below:

  • In-depth introduction of the area of focus
  • An introduction to what the BEAB are currently doing in this area
  • Some expert opinion from an area of focus expert
  • An invitation for you to have input into critiquing the area of focus
  • Finally and most importantly an invitation for you to look at opportunities to partner with us in taking the area of focus forward


So please take the opportunity to participate in one of these six workshops which will run concurrently by filling out the relevant section of the registration form.

Who attended?

The forum was targeted at the key stakeholders from within the Rotorua and the surrounding regions business community. it did not matter if you were big or small, we were looking at sharing our vision with all and believe that there are a number of opportunities for all.
Local and national government politicians and officials.
Some national business leaders in the relevant areas of focus fields.
