The BrightEconomy Advisory Board held the Rotorua Economic Opportunity Forum on 10 August 2006. About 230 participants attended, mostly Rotorua business people plus some representatives of local, regional and central government organisations.
The Forum backgrounded and explained the board’s work during its first 11 months of existence. It outlined the nine-point framework that the Board has developed to support sustainable economic growth, and the “drivers of change” process the board has followed to identify areas of focus for sustainable growth.
Importantly, the Forum also gave initial opportunities for participants to learn more about six new areas of focus and to start contributing their ideas to help develop sustainable business and growth opportunities.
